Respecting people and giving back to the community is the cornerstone of our family tradition. Our coffees are graded on factors such as taste and aroma, but we know that the very best coffee must be held to an even higher standard.
Social stewardship is the extra ingredient that makes each cup more satisfying. Helping our local and global communities is something that is as natural to our company as drinking coffee. Check out our favorite projects below!
Providing Corporate Leadership
We are active volunteers as leaders in our industry and communities.
Meeting Community Needs
Grounds for Caring Program: Through this program, we support several non-profit organizations in coffee growing regions and contribute to more than 200 educational and social services organizations throughout the U.S. every year. We also donate coffee to missions and homeless shelters in local communities throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.
Coffee Kids: Since 1988, Coffee Kids has been helping coffee-farming families improve the quality of their lives through healthcare and education. Gaviña has been a proud supporter of Coffee Kids for many years.
Grounds for Health: This organization works with healthcare professionals in coffee growing communities to create sustainable and effective cancer screening programs. Since 2007, we have been an avid supporter of this organization, helping fund their life-saving programs.
Engaging, Encouraging, and Empowering Others
At Gaviña, we believe in offering others a hand to reach their next level of success. Seeing individuals and families making positive changes inspires us.
Gaviña Teaches: We know the value of good communication and want each of our employees to feel completely at home. We provide ongoing education classes free of charge for our employees, including English as a Second Language, Spanish as a Second Language, Microsoft Office, Accounting, and more.
Enrich LA: This community wellness non-profit organization builds edible gardens in local schools, focusing on low-income and under-served neighborhoods of Los Angeles. We are a proud sponsor of our local West Vernon Elementary School, showing students how delicious and fun healthy food can be.
International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA): We are a committed supporter of this organization that empowers women in the international coffee community, helping them achieve meaningful and sustainable lives. We celebrate and encourage the participation of women in all aspects of the coffee industry.
