Demonstrator (Product Promoter)
Department: Demo-Costco
Status: Hourly, Non-exempt
Reports to: Key Accounts Director
Hours: Thursday – Sunday, various hours
Rate: DOE
F. Gaviña & Sons, Inc. is looking for a friendly, motivated, people-person to promote the Jose’s Coffee brand as part of our Costco
Roadshow team in the San Diego market area.

Job Summary
The Demonstrator will work independently, representing the company at a variety of Costco store locations to generate sales of the
Jose’s Coffee brand by providing samples and answering product questions.

Essential Functions
* Be knowledgeable of Jose’s Coffee flavors, prices, and coffee origins
* Understand and communicate coffee grinding and brewing techniques
* Transport and set up the road show at different locations to attract the attention of customers
* Offer coffee samples to Costco members and suggest specific product purchases
* Promote sales of Jose’s Coffee brand
* Create positive image of Jose’s Coffee brand
* Maintain Road Show set up and keep it presentable and clean
* Ensure that all product is properly price marked and displayed
* Thoroughly inventory entire product line at the beginning and end of each day
* Maintain and properly submit work-related paperwork and timekeeping information
* Follow safety guidelines while setting up and using Road Show equipment

Job Specifications
* Valid Driver’s License
* Access to reliable transportation
* Enthusiastic and effective face-to-face communication skills
* Able to provide excellent customer service
* Must be organized and provide thorough and detailed follow-up
* Must be reliable and punctual with exceptional self-management skills

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Able to stand, bend, twist as needed to set up equipment in a variety of locations and spaces
Must be able to stand for between 8 to 10 hours
Speaking-able to talk to customers clearly and effectively to convey product information
Listening-able to hear customer questions and feedback

 

Electrician (Industrial)
Department: Engineering
Status: Hourly, Non-exempt
Reports to: Engineering, Maintenance and Sanitation Manager
Hours: Monday-Friday, Weekends (On-Call)
Rate: (Negotiable DOE & Certification)
F. Gaviña & Sons, Inc. is looking for a skilled Electrician with experience installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment electrical systems in an industrial, factory or manufacturing setting. Experience working in the consumables industry helpful.

Job Summary
The ideal Electrician candidate will diagnose & troubleshoot all of the equipment that is used throughout each stage of the coffee roasting, production and packaging process using PLCs (Programable Logic Control) and Ladder Logic in order to make sure that they are safe and are running with the utmost efficiency.

Essential Functions
* Running diagnostics to troubleshoot, test and fix equipment
* Performing routine maintenance and safety checks on all systems
* Wiring machines and electrical panels in line with prints as needed
* Advising operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components
* Wire machines and electrical panels in line with prints
* Repairing large electrical equipment
* Maintaining logs and recording labor, materials, and equipment used
* Responding quickly to emergency issues

Job Specifications
* License or equivalent certification preferred
* Must have PLC (programmable Logic Controls) experience and the ability to read and understand ladder logic
* Strong sense of urgency: must complete tasks to ensure production flow
* Must possess strong electrical and mechanic abilities
* Meticulous understanding of OSHA safety regulations
* Critical thinking skills to diagnose problems and offer solutions
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 25lbs
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Hands and fingers with dexterity to work with equipment, wiring, circuits and tools
Ability to crouch, bend, twist as needed to install equipment in a variety of locations and spaces
Ability to see in color to distinguish wiring and read specifications and blueprints
Ability to hear if machinery is functioning properly or detect potential malfunctions
Ability to work in fluctuating hot and cold environments

 

Service Technician (Field)
Department: Service Department
Status: Hourly, Non-exempt
Reports to: Service Manager
Hours: Monday-Friday, Weekends (On-Call)
Rate: (Negotiable DOE & Certification)
F. Gaviña & Sons, Inc. is looking for a Service Technician to support our customers in various market areas. The right person will be a motivated and reliable self-starter who will ensure client retention by providing excellent and timely customer service.

Job Summary
The Service Technician will service and install coffee equipment for customers. The Technician will work with the Service Department team on completing equipment installations, troubleshooting, and preforming preventative maintenance for new and existing customers.

Essential Functions
* Service accounts by analyzing work orders, planning a daily travel schedule
* Complete daily work orders onsite and offsite
* Be knowledgeable about professional industry coffee equipment, including: Bunn, Curtis, Fetco, Grindmaster, Bloomfield, Casadio Cimbali, Nuova Simonelli, Expobar and Marlinc machines.
* Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
* Maintain supplies and order equipment parts
* Keep company equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
* Conduct equipment testing and diagnostics
* Document service and installations by completing applicable records (forms, logs, reports).
* Follow all guidelines and perform duties within safety regulations

Job Specifications
* Service Technician Certificate
* Valid Driver’s License
* Strong in computer skills  
* Thorough and effective face-to-face and telephone communication skills
* Excellent customer service and follow-up skills
* Reliable and effective self-management skills
* Ability to safely use dollies and other lifting tools

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 20 to 70lbs
Hands and fingers with dexterity to work with equipment parts and installation
Ability to stand, bend, twist as needed to install equipment in a variety of locations and spaces
Must be able to drive long hours
Ability to read specifications, write notes, and hear potential mechanical equipment malfunctions
Ability to work in fluctuating hot and cold environments
